Hey all. Here is your first blog assignment....when you finally get connected!

I'd like you post a picture of yourself. And then under the picture, I'd like you to write a sentence or two about yourself. This is another way for us to get to know each other better.

Week 1 was great! I really enjoyed our first couple classes, and Debbie told me she enjoyed her class with you too.

      How did you get your picture and write up under your name? I cannot figure out how to make mine look like yours when you click on my name??????? I'm so bad at this, I would have been the best teacher in the 18th century.

Hi everyone I hope you are having a great weekend! When the program began, I was researching online about how a teen, Tim Doner, used technology to aid his fluency and accuracy with languages with authentic exposure. For example, the teenager in the clip uses the Internet to draw elements of blended learning before engaging in conversation with others using the foreign language he acquired. In addition, he would also elicit responses for pronunciation by posting YouTube clips of himself and then gets the feedback from native speakers in the chosen foreign language. Criminal Record Checks

Great news class that I wanted to share. Linda Vanderheide, my supervisor whom you met, has confirmed that those of you with existing valid criminal record checks can use them for our practicum. In her recent email to me, she said, "  Yes, TESOL students with active Criminal Records checks can use them with our school.  However they have to use the SHARING FORM.  Here is a link: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/ content/safety/crime- prevention/criminal-record- check/sharing-results So that is great news for our class. If you have any questions about this process, we can talk more about it soon. I have never used this sharing link before. But I will do the best to answer questions and help you out.  Marc
